As the son of famous perfumer and industry executive Raymond Chaillan, Jean-Marc Chaillan was born into a life of fragrance, growing up in Grasse and enjoying constant exposure to fine fragrance and the industry at large. After training at ISIPCA in Versailles, he worked with his father at J & E Sozio and then moved on to IFF, first in Brazil and then in New York, where he achieved the title of Vice President.
