Gérald Ghislain
Gérald Ghislain’s life is built around the intersecting pleasures of the gourmet. Raised in the south of France and Morocco, trained as a restaurateur and hotelier, Ghislain’s passion for sensory delights led him to pursue graduate studies at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles. He founded the now world-famous Histoires de Parfums line in 2000.
As the creative force behind Histoires de Parfums, Ghislain has declared himself free from the expectations and restrictions of mainstream perfumery, and the results are clear: his fragrances run from soft and lovely to wild and animalic, from gourmand to unabashedly sexy. Throughout this veritable library of styles and scents, the rich spices of his globe-trotting childhood lend a unique vitality to his work: notes such as cardamom, cumin, cloves and cinnamon often emerge in unexpected places, further placing his fragrances as unapologetically outside of the mainstream. We have no idea what Gérald Ghislain will create next- and that’s a wonderful thing.
