This was all powder on me after about 5 minutes. Like the Love’s Baby Soft my grandma bought me when I was 8. Gross, did not work for me. Sample this first for sure.

Like a dark Shalimar. Sexy and cozy and one of the few perfumes with “Noir” in the title that is worthy of being called “Noir” It is a bit animalic although I can’t quite put my finger on what that might be from. Michelle Pfeifer as Catwoman would wear this well. One of my favorite winter scents. Agree that it should be used sparingly as it’s potent and it lasts a long time on my skin. I should note that it wasn’t instant love. It was one of those that you try in the shop, wrinkle your nose, but are then haunted hours later and need to go back for more.

This was extremely strong and powdery. I don't like it at all.

I have been in search of a particular scent for the past 30 years. When I was quite young, I had a tiny bottle of a remarkable perfume. It was called Cairo, and certainly evoked what I imagined at the time that city must have looked and smelled like, perhaps in the 1920s or 30s. Or perhaps much earlier. Once it was gone, it was gone, and during that same period I moved to England, and then Italy, and had no means to search for it in California again, where I had been living when I found it. I have been longing for it ever since. Some years ago I moved back to the United States, and again started looking for the perfume Cairo – – or at least a fragrance that created a similar multi– dimensional effect in my head. After many, many, many samplings through the last decades, I finally found it in Geisha Noire. I could scarcely believe it. It has been an extraordinary experience to at last re-encounter that richness, that subtlety, that wonderful and mysterious effect. This creation is more than superb: it is, for me, deeply precious. I don't wish to imply that Geisha Noire is in anyway a re-creation of Cairo. It simply has the same enlarging and transporting effect on the senses as did that first, magical fragrance. I'm so glad that my search is over!

This smells like amber, sandalwood and tonka, exactly in that order. It takes many hours to develop so take your time with this one. By the way femme fatales wore florals, especially jasmine. This smells like the detective in the film, a little dirty and rugged but trustworthy, you know that even if he's kinda shady, he still has some integrity. As to the girl with the jasmine...well she either ends up dead or in jail.

When I first tried this and then purchased, I thought it was all the rage. I loved the way it smelled. I'm big on earthy ambers! It was sexy and beyond. Not too many months went by and I gradually fell out of love. I remember throwing the the bottle away like shooing away a big, scary insect. I'm fickle and/or it stinks.

Since I started wearing this I've had more hugs, nuzzles and hmmmm....s from men AND women than I've ever had in my life! Sooo sexy! Even more delicious when layered with Regina Harris Frank.-Myrr-Rose Maroc, but be carefull to use sparingly, it IS strong.

I bought this two years ago and found it a little too masculine for me - always tricky with sandalwood - and therefore a little overpowering. I've just tried it again, and I feel the same way. I might try to get my boyfriend to wear it, as I think I'd like it on him, but I don't find it feminine at all. Not bad, just too much for my skin.

I feel like I am wearing a classy sweater when I rub this all over my shoulders and neck. Loved it a lot, but after I put it on a cotton ball to put in the tank vacuum cleaner for an air freshener.. I had my fill of it! It is lovely. Lovely enough to buy? well, there are so many more to try with amber in them. Can't decide just yet.

This one was nice, a bit strong and almost a bit too 'stated' for daytime. But it definitely has staying power. I would say it is a decent one from this line, but not my fav.

This is one sexy fragrance! It does have an intense aura to it; this is definitely not one for the fruity-floral or fresh scent lovers. The amber here is of the "I'm A Very Very Bad Girl" variety. My husband LOVES this, he says it is dirty in the best possible way. Definitely worth buying a bottle to occasionally drive him crazy, especially as it is so reasonably priced.

This reminds me of my grandma's car freshener driving through a winding road in the mountains trying not to throw up. One word: car sickness. On the up side, it lasts forever...:(

Really powdery on me. As it dries down, get a bit more interesting, but still very powdery. Really disappointing.

I normally don't care for amber scents, but this one is awesome. Its powerful without being off-putting. Very sexy, but definately a winter scent.

This perfume is exquisite- warm, mysterious and irrisistably seductive. I feel like I'm experiencing the 1930-1940's, (a period of fashion class tragically gone with the modern wind), everytime I wear it. You have to give it a chance, though- the top notes are not at all where it winds up. I wish it would smell that way right out of the bottle. At least it gives me something to look forward to every time I use it. Most appropriate name I've seen for a perfume in a long time.

I love this scent both in the bottle and on my skin. I find it both sexy and soothing. But one warning - the scent is very strong and it lasts forever.
