Here's what other people are saying about Iris de Gris...
A dirty, gritty, earthy, lightly minty green atop a bed of pretty purple irises. Dries down to a light, airy, floral green around 2 hours in. One of the most unique and interesting fragrances I've sampled. It is reminiscent of a spring day, standing at the sink, shucking fresh picked peas, while a cool breeze from the window overhead gently fills the kitchen with the calming scent of the blossoming flowers, dirt, and grass from outside the yard.

I was looking for a replacement for my all time favorite Balenciaga B. which had notes of pea and lavender. Thanks to Fragrantica, I found this fragrance. It is more musky and therefore less green than Balenciaga B. (which had a sweeter base note); however, it does have that 'green' scent. It is fairly musky, much more so than the sweeter base of Balenciaga B., but, it does signal 'green'. I ordered a sample and although 'of course' not the same, it did have that mesmerizing green pea scent. I kept going back to it, putting it on my wrist, enjoying it. Very nice. I ordered it.

I waited almost a year to try this one despite being very excited about the notes. I don't think I've ever smelled a green pea fragrance before! I love iris based fragrances and I love the smell of peas. I will say that there is a touch of sweetness here, so it's green snap peas to my nose. This is ultra comforting and clean with a hint of spring. I do think this will perform well in higher heat though I am having no issues here now (it's 30 degrees at the end of March here). Longevity is on par with other EDPs I have tried from the brand and projection is mid to low like other irises. When I first started to wear iris I had to clean that lower projection is part of the game but the ambroxan is helping here.
