I wanted so very much to love this fragrance, because of the imaginative name (plus I love vanilla!). Alas, I found the scent dreadful, intolerable. It is pungent, and smells of chemicals, almost plastic. I don't detect any vanilla whatsoever, just something a bit acrid, somewhat like boozy chocolate, except with none of the yummy-ness, and no sweetness (where did the vanilla go?!) — as if made of wholly artificial, petrol-based ingredients. Almost headache-inducing. Sigh.

I love this perfume, it is sweet and spicy, and has a memory recall that comes with it. That memory of being on the beach when I was a teenager. I don't know exactly what it is about the fragrance that takes me there. My only complaint is the bottle that arrived doesn't look anything like the one shown. No flower, the label is all white, instead of all black with pink edges, the logo is in all caps instead of cursive. It smells just like the sample I fell in love with, so I'm fine with my purchase - but I am disappointed in the presentation. I might just go buy a little fake flower to put on it to dress it up :)

This was ALMOST my new go-to vanilla. I tend to like warm and sweet vanillas, but not like the cheap body spray sweet kinds. This was close, but two things killed it for me. One: it smells like the scent is floating in coconut water or oil. After the vanilla fades, the coconut sticks and I dislike coconut. Two: the scent doesn't last for more than 2-3 hours.

This is what I bought when I couldn't afford Tihota. It's not as pure as Tihota, and not as rich. It's mostly vanilla but there are other notes to Exact Friction of Stars, such as creamy coconut and fruit. I get a bit of orange. The notes aren't listed which makes it more difficult to describe. I happily used up a bottle of this and would buy another because of the price. But Tihota really is better. A close friend who objected to "something synthetic" in this one loved Tihota.

This smells nice, but it's not as sophisticated as I had expected. I think I was hoping it would be more like the sharp, rummy smell of vanilla extract than the creamy, sweet scent that it is. I agree with a couple of the reviewers that mentioned Bath and Body Works - this reminds me of their old vanilla bean body spray, which I used to wear in middle school. On me, I don't get anything but vanilla ice cream and that plastic doll's head smell. I wouldn't call either of those scents unpleasant, but this is more of a scent that I would give my niece for her 13th birthday than one I would choose for myself.

I fell in love with the sample provided by Lucky Scent after ordering another fragrance.I used it until the last possible drop and loved the sweetness of it.It has a spiciness that gives it extra mystery.I will be purchasing a full bottle now.Or the oil.Or maybe BOTH!

Smells like coconut and vanilla. Hints of musk maybe?? A good scent on a summers day.

smells coconuty/vanilla (suntan lotion) at first, then dries down and smells very like Madera by Omnia, which I did not like. Both scents become very plastic and fake smelling on me.

I have tried this fragrance a couple of times a year for at least the last 7 years. I really want to enjoy a fragrance called The Exact Friction of Stars. I adore "Tiptoeing" by Pilar & Lucy, but I have the same problem with "Friction" that I have with "Twirl": for some reason my skin brings out notes that smell overwhelmingly like a blend of vegetable cooking oil and paraffin wax. I get mere hints of what the fragrance could create. I know it's not the formulation; it's me. Frustrating. I must admit I'm awfully attracted to the bottles in the Pilar & Lucy line, but I noticed "Friction" isn't nearly as Burlesque as she used to be. What a shame. I guess this makes my inability to befriend her easier to tolerate.

This scent kinda grew on me. At first whiff I get orange blossoms and honey, the dry down has a musky subtle creamy scent to it and keeps reminding me of Egyptian Musk which I used to wear in 7th grade so it brings good memories to my Ol' factory nerves. It smells oil based not alcoholly at all. If you work in a field where you cant have a strong strong perfume this is a good choice. Sweet and sublte with a musky swirl of orange blossom and honey a very polite scent, it doesnt seem like you get too much per bottle though. I took caution and ordered the sample first. Maybe in time I will purchase the FB. Perhaps.

I love it in all its simplicity. I love that it's not trying to be complex and mysterious. I started with a sample then purchased the bottle. It's a true vanille scent with more depth than the cheap, boring ones at the mall. Every time I wear this fragrance, at least one person will ask me what I'm wearing.

All coconut oil on me. If you like that suntan-oil, coconut-drink beachy smell, you should love this one. I, on the other hand, bought a whole bottle and now am looking for someone to give it to. Not my thing, though I can see where some would love it.

Nice but very very similar to Demeter's Angel Food Cake. Or like a lighter version of Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Vanilla Coconut but without the staying power. Old bottle tacky. Haven't seen new one. Like it but not special.

I think this is a nice vanilla scent. Very girly and sweet. I get a french vanilla note and also a creamier vanilla with a touch of fruit in there too. The only bad thing is that it doesn't last very long on me. It fades within an hour or so. I wouldn't buy a full bottle for that reason, oh and in my opinion there are nicer, more complex vanilla perfumes out there that appeal much more to me than this one. But it's a "happy mood" scent. That's why I adore buying samples to test out a perfume before having to commit. Lucky scent is the best!!!!!

This scent was a gourmand's dream come true, but it was more glamorous and elegant than a simple food-scented fragrance. The citrus notes soar, bringing a sophisticated glamor to the fragrance with uplifting clarity. A note though, I would describe this as a white-chocolate dipped orangette or a dark-chocolate dipped Valentine strawberry. I loved it, but my boyfriend preferred something a bit more mysterious.
