Here's what other people are saying about Chocolat...
I have a bottle of this beautiful perfume and mine does smell like chocolate. Beautiful chocolate perfume thru and thru. I feel sad for those ppl who got a dud because this one is absolutely chocolate. If u love Angel, layer it with this perfume. It’s gonna take Angel to a whole new amazing level…

ugh, I thought I would love this, but on me, there's this powdery, strong, fake, dusty smell cloud all over. I don't even smell the chocolate unless I put my nose right over my wrist and even then. Tried keeping it up to an hour, but had to give up and scrub unfortunately.

TM Angel, more or less. Too sweet (I can't believe I said that!) A snooze.

Godiva Liqueur. Nice boozy chocolate.

Along the same line as La Maison de la Vanille, but more expensive. Perhaps the true beauty is wasted on me . . . Nah, conlilcting essences just make my nose want to give up.

Mmmm....Definitely on my list to buy! It does have smilarities to Angel but IMO this has (obviously) stronger hints of chocolate. THey are subtle hints though - its not the main note that sails through it - its sort of an underlying base. Yummy and sweet. Very sexy. Love!

This smells very similar to La Part Des Anges by Thierry Muglur, which is a concentraded and more fermented form of Angel that was a limitted edition. This is just as good and actually a better price. I am going to buy it, absolutely love it. Smells smokey and chocolatly with a hint of vanilla.

First-this fragrance is very hard to find! as I searched through the internet Lucky Scent is the only place you can find it! at first sprayed I got a few moments of sandelwood with chocolate! after that scent dried down quickly into scents of a woodsy Amber followed by a warm vanilla and powder scent. All sort of mysterious and sexy. If you have a tendency to have frangrances run sweet on your skin because of your body chemisty this fragrance is great! It's very strong so two sprays does the trick! from a few feet away my husband thinks it smells like candy, not bad! Loved it!!!

Nice, but similar to Angel...less harsh. Would be great to layer with another fragrance.

Candied fruits floating in a bowl of spiked punch. There might be some cocoa in there, but it's hidden - a supporting note. I like it - it smells festive and gets really warm and nice as it dries down & the notes blend together.

I love this. It's a warm, spicey, exotic scent that suits me rather nicely when the weather becomes a bit chilly. I did notice the chocolate (on my chemistry, anyway) but it does fade into something sweet and smokey after some time. It reminds me of Pacifica's Mexican Cocoa soap. Not for all but a keeper for me!

I tried this first in Venice...once they told me the price, I walked away, but about 15 minutes later I realized I had made a huge mistake--the aroma was irresistable! But I was already on the other side of the island stepping on a water taxi, with no time to return. i thanked heaven when I found it here--but BEWARE--the absolu they sell here is only 15ml, not 50ml as listed.

Not sophisticated. I hoped it would be. But a nice everyday version of Angel. A bit synthetic smell, vanilla predominates in the drydown. I will maybe buy a full size bottle.

I could not smell mandarin or chocolate, just a strong bitter smell. Don't know if I will even use the rest of the sample. Try before you buy!

I get almost no noticeable chocolate, but there is a definitely sweet candy-like drydown. But make no mistake - this isn't a hershey bar. This is candy from that chinese grocery from the far side of town, it's candy that your aunt brought back from her trip around the world. Spice, yes, sweet, yes, and incense. unusual sweet. Complex, Interesting. Very very interesting.

I could not smell any of what I hoped. It does appear to have staying power, but I really do not care for it. Unless it improves throughout the day, I can only give it one star.

This is not a young womans fragrance. Not so much for sophistication as for its reminiscence of musty candy rooted from the bottom of a heavy purse.

This review is for the Parfum. I don't get the Angel comparison at all. La Maison de la Vanille's Givree des Antilles smells like Angel, but not Chocolat. In chocolatiness it actually compares more closely to Temperare 03 or Susanne Lang's Cashmere, but it's better than both of them. This is a very smooth, well-blended scent, and it has something extra that most simple cocoa scents don't have: sophistication. The top note of mandarin isn't in-your-face like in Fresh's Fleurs du Chocolat or Comme des Garcons' Spicy Cocoa. Nutmeg, sandalwood and galbanum are the notes that give what is to some the dreaded "patchouli" note, but for me, this is what gives the chocolate its darkness, depth and body. I honestly can't make out the individual notes of plum, jasmine & yellow rose, but vanilla just makes this chocolate that much more delicious. Everything works together to create a scent that doesn't scream, "I'm chocolate! Eat me!" It's more a glamorous, grown-up perfume with a sophisticated hint of chocolate. I can even imagine this smelling fantastic on a guy. Well, well, well, I think I've finally found my HG chocolate scent.
