Here's what other people are saying about Le Cri...
Do not blind buy this. Get a sample and wear it a minimum of 4 times. Highly likely that with each wearing you'll enjoy this less and less, finding it to be screechy and medicinal. If I wrote a review after my first wearing I would echo the chorus of praise below, but the scent either 'aired out' or 'showed its true colors' and I could no longer enjoy it.

This smells to me like two notes played on the piano at the interval of a fifth — the ambrette at the G and the iris at the C below. The description of “haughty” and “aristocratic” is spot on. This is a scent to be worn by a woman of power, yet genteel and refined, like a director of a globally famous art museum. (It also smells expensive.) For me, it doesn’t quite fit with my personality, but it’s truly a lovely scent.

I agree entirely with the video description above. I did wear and love Clinique "Aromatics Elixir" back in headier days, and wouldn't dare these days — because of its "muscle". This is a whisp of a memory of the dry-down I would get from AE. Some of my favourite notes are here — conveyed with the restraint required by my increased scent sensitivity and an office environment. A pleasure to wear!

Sometimes you just know right off the bat that a fragrance is full bottle worthy. Within minutes I knew Le Cri de la Lumière, The Cry of Light was for me. I enjoy it’s changling nature. Sometimes it feels vintage, and then it feels niche and new. I get a compliment almost every time I wear it which is nice and affirms that quality is appreciated. It has very good lasting power, but it doesn’t overpower, and there’s just enough sillage for those who get close enough to notice. I tend to like abstract fragrances, and this has a guazy abstract quality where no one note sticks out. Le Cri de la Lumière, I am moved by you.

Achingly beautiful, austere, clean, knowing, deep emotions under firm control. Like Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, it shows you don't need a complex arrangement to be profound.
