Here's what other people are saying about Ambrette 9...
Really into this one right now. It smells clean and soft, just what I'm looking for this time of year. It is a bit fleeting making you want to spray more and more on you, but I've caught whiffs of it days later. It wears pretty close to the skin, might be worth buying in a travel size so you can reapply. I do believe it's a long lasting scent though.

I've been using this for a few years, and I still love it. I wear perfume for my pleasure, not to broadcast across the room. Applied some late in the afternoon, and the next day my guy was nuzzling the back of my neck and said "You smell so good - what is that?" He liked the subtle, understated quality and wondered if I was wearing perfume or if just naturally smell like that. Bingo!

Ambrette 9 is a super pear for me. I love it to very bits of it. Comforting and uplifting. Right now I have some throat ache and feels like little immune boosting too. It said it is for babies and mommies. I can see why but for me the dry down is very feminine.

My husband and I were Christmas shopping on Abbot Kinney in Venice. While my husband was buying wine, I decided to sample perfumes next door at my new favorite perfume store Le Labo. I had just bought Lyse 41 last week--my signature scent. I was immediately drawn to this fragrance, and I wondered why I hadn't heard of the fragrance before on perfume websites. I decided to buy a sample, and read reviews later. I was shocked to learn this is a mommy and baby scent. I had just had a baby, and love the scent of my new baby--no wonder I love this scent. What a unique and special perfume. Brilliant!

How can anyone give this 5 stars? This scent is impossible to detect. I think the chemistry argument is stupid. I want to to try and get a whiff of this off of you 5 star people. At $150 a bottle, you have to be silly to by this. It's a 1 hr skin scent at best....if you can smell it. I bought the whole le labo sample pack. The only perfumes that might be worth a damn....for the money or rose 31 and iris. Seems like your paying a bunch of money to get your name and the expiration date printed on the bottle.

I get a soft touch of pear and apple at the start, followed by the delicate, sweet ambrette musk; a scent which invokes the smell of clean, warm skin. I can't get enough of this fresh, subtle perfume. Out of the 15 samples I ordered, this is number 1 with a bullet.

This fragrance is indeed delicately light and extremely subtle. In fact, the first time I tried this, I unfortunately got absolutely nothing. But as any perfume lover would, I tried it a few more times and sniffed harder. I even had a friend, who has a better nose than mine, give me her synopsis: clean, warm, and spicy, not a trace of sweet. It then went away in less than an hour. I imagined that it would have the sweetness of a baby's skin, and it does, only my skin ate it all up. I wish my skin projected this more, and for longer, as other reviewers have experienced. :( Nevertheless, I do believe it's well done, and on the right skin this would be perfect. Must-try if you like 'skin-but-better' scents!

Love this! "like skin, but better" is a very apt description. It's subtle, but lasts surprisingly well on me. I keep sniffing my wrist and smiling.

One of the loveliest ambrette fragrances I've tried. It's soft, subtle and slightly musky.

I think people are giving this a low rating because it doesnt really smell like perfume-That's why I LOVE IT!!!! This is the best 'skin but better' perfume I have ever smelled. At first I thought the smell dissappeared, but then I went outside to play with my kids and I kept smelling this unbelievably sexy smell and realized it was Ambrette 9! Just have a little faith and believe that other people can smell it and they will think it's just you-not a perfume!

There was a slight hint of citrus when I first dabbed this on, then after 20 seconds, absolutely nothing. I'm virtually anosmic to this. Pity, the notes sound lovely.

I love the ambrette-heavy Chanel no 18, so I was curious about this fragrance. Unfortunately, I don't think it's fit for anyone but babies, and I firmly believe that babies shouldn't be perfumed, so that makes it fit for nobody. The fruity sweetness, the slightly watery/melony pear note especially, brings out the worst aspects of ambrette, in my opinion, makes it sickly sweet. I'm surprised the previous reviewer found the fragrance "fresh" - I think it's anything but!
