Here's what other people are saying about Oud Stars - Alexandria II...
Just got a sample of this. I had high expectations, so I wonder if I received a sample from a bad batch? It smells like powdery motor oil on my skin. Probably just doesn’t bode well with my chemistry. Boy, am I glad I didn’t blind buy this one. Bummer. I’m jealous of those whose skin work well with this one.

I picked up samples of Naxos, Comandante, and Alexandria II. Naxos is beautiful and FB worthy and Comandante is great but not quite worth adding to my collection. Alexandria II is what I was most excited to try and such a letdown. I've read of reformulations to this particular fragrance and although this was my introduction, I can confirm with confidence that this smells nothing like previous formulations have been reported. Balsamic vinegar & rotted apples, faint smell of feces, and reminiscent of pencil shavings with a pungent skanky wood note dominating the fragrance after the dry down. Alexandria II or this particular formulation is plain repulsive. Hopefully I can get a previous version under my nose.

I have to admit, the first time I sprayed this on my skin, I immediately scrubbed it off. There was a note that transformed on my skin that was very strong, which I assume is the Oud in it. Very off putting, BO smell to my nose. About a year later, I decided to give it another shot since a lot of people I have heard just loved it. While that "smell" was still present, I wanted to see what was beyond it, and I am very glad I did. This has ended up as one of my favorite bottles. While it is "challenging" on my skin for the first 20 minutes, what unfolds over the next 6-8 hours is nothing short of magnificent depth of woods, spice, seduction, and mystery. I am very happy I gave this another shot.

Love this perfume. It is a very interesting wear. When u smell it on ur skin after spraying the notes r strong, almost combusting. When u smell it with a little space the notes blossom. When I first tried this I thought it was a pass but, then I continued to get these heavenly trails of scent and I fell in love. The lavender, apple, spicy woods are amazing. For me, this is unisex/ not nec masc leaning. I love wearing this and I am a woman. It is potent, complicated and magical. I bought a full bottle the same day I got the sample. Glad I tried it first. Too expensive to gamble w a blind buy.

A beautiful powdery Floriental. It is delicate, sophisticated, and unravels in beautiful layer after layer of sheer woody floral ecstasy. The perfume opens with the lovely lavender note (that stays throughout), with hints of palisander rosewood, cinnamon and apple. It proceeds to a brief middle where one can detect lily-of-the-valley, rose and cedar. Finally it settles down into a powdery woody base of amber, musk, Oud, sandalwood and vanilla. Unisex (slightly masculine leaning), with strong sillage and projection and enormous lasting power. Don't go in expecting a lot of Oud. It is there but muted by all the woods and flowers. The perfume is as a whole one of the most beautiful ever created and very classy. Stunningly gorgeous.

Wearing this is like wrapping yourself with a warm luxurious blanket on a cold night in an exotic country. As a woman I feel bold and feminine with this scent. It stays until you wash it off and has the most elegant drydown.
