Based on Sarah McCartneys memories of a 1998 trip to Cuba, The Dark Heart Of Old Havana is an all-night adventure through the winding alleyways of the city that has long captivated literary imagination. McCartney has loaded The Dark Heart with the fixtures of a Havana adventure: sugar, tobacco, fruit, coffee, warm bodies, alcohol, exuberance, and recklessness, for a scent that never sacrifices its adventurousness just to smell nice- but never stops smelling nice, either.

McCartney's trip to Havana culminated in an impromptu onstage tango performance at the legendary nightlife institution Caseron del Tango. Where your own Havana adventure ends up is entirely up to you.

Not a fragrance for everybody but very intriguing sweet scent. Dark fruits and tobacco notes blend naturally in a nice unisex experience. Projection could be better but overall scent is smooth with some slight depth.

I loved this right after I put on the sample, but as it dried down it faded and had a very sweet coconut note, which I'm not crazy about. I reapplied twice in a 10 hour period to try and see if the initial tobacco and cocoa stayed with me, but it only became sweeter and lost it's base notes.

Mostly sweaty bodies and street animals. I suppose there are parts of Havana--or any city--that smell like this, but why on earth make a fragrance of it? And why is it so hard to find a decent tobacco fragrance??

At first I was in love, but after the dry down.... Every note that I expected was there, but there was also this playdoh smell. I'm hopeful that it is amazing on the right person.

I appear to be bucking the trend here but I love this stuff on my skin. I smell mocha, vanilla, sweet tobacco and it all makes my mouth water. It might be simple but on my skin it is heavenly. Only got a sample but it is definitely going to be on my purchase list.

Very synthetic, as others have commented. I don't like it much. Gourmand chemicals, just weird, and hopefully Havana does not smell like this...but then again maybe it does.

I didn't enjoy this as much as I was hoping. It's pleasant, but it is very sweet and very synthetic, like a lot of fragrances that you would find on Etsy. It's almost like a new car scent plus artificial cheesecake.

Pleasant but boring blend of tobacco and sweet coffee notes. It’s too smooth and predictable to be interesting. But maybe it's a safe purchase given the relatively low price.
