It smells like the mosquito repellent incense that I had in my childhood. It brought back memories but I'm not sure I want to smell like one.

Another gorgeous "Arabian Nights" perfume from Stephane Humbert Lucas, this shimmering Oriental beauty starts off with a beautiful whiff of osmanthus, chamomile and a hint of citrus. It begins to dry down to reveal a more animalic side with ambergris and leather on one side and some vanilla, iris, and an earthy note I can't ascertain for sure on the other. Beautiful blending with a powerful projection, sillage and longevity, this one has you completely entranced and enraptured, evoking wonderful imagery of the Arabian peninsula.

The opening notes were very medicinal and I was prepared to be disappointed, but after about 30 minutes it calmed down, and got more and more interesting as the second wave of scents emerged. The longer I wore it the lovelier it got, until it lived up to all previous reviews--indeed this scent is warm yet airy, spicy without being bitter or dark, luscious without ever getting cloying. Potentially a new favorite!

Liquid luxury and refinement. This has everything you could ever desire in a fragrance. It is a study in contrasts: it is wild and tame, sweet and dry, light and dark, refined and sexy...all at once. Well worth the price! Cheers!

I love this scent, the herbal, lemon opening is divine! The leather in the base is very nice, and keeps it interesting, but it is very sweet and feminine (I have been told I smell like Fruit Loops, but what does he know). That being said, perfumer SHL has just recreated for his personal line what he already did for SoOud, at least to my nose. And while the bottle for SdJ is gorgeous, I can save over $100+ and get more juice from SoOud's Nur Eau Fine.

This is it. I will buy the bottle. The Osmanthus is subtle and surrounded by a web of complexity yet never hidden. The sent is long lasting and clings to my clothes and hair. Feminine, grounded and exotic with a touch of whimsy. After finishing two samples I cannot grow tired of this one.

The bright, bright lemon note in the opening is what I thought Amouage 'Sunshine' would be, but is not. The Lemon and Roman chamomile is the perfect, happy blend while the iris and leather ground it and provides depth so its not just another juicy fruit perfume. There is also a slight medicinal (menthol? something in the leather accord?) edge to the opening, but its good! To me it keeps the lemon from going into hard candy/ lemon bars territory, but its a very light edge and shouldn't deter anyone. Already gotten several compliments and SdJ is at the top of my full bottle list!!
