Here's what other people are saying about Asphalt Rainbow...
Incredible. This is an extremely layered, aesthetic, unusual, modern creation. This is a love-it-or-hate-it type of fragrance, absolutely sample before buying. If you are blessed with skin that plays well with this scent, you will be rewarded with a candied, multi-faceted rose that is led by synthetics. The other reviews are correct, the opening is plasticky and industrial smelling, almost like a whiff of spray paint or a permanent marker. The rose and lily of the valley come and go throughout the day this is a sheer, iridescent rose and not a jammy or dusty rose. This fragrance lasts all day long (at least on me) and I adore the various layers that open and close as I move around.

Smelled lovely and complex in the bottle--once applied, faded almost instantly to grandma's house. Probably works for someone, but this isn't for me. Super bland.

Asphalt Rainbow is an interesting captivating scent. It is so layered. You can't stop trying to figure it out. It is a olfactory journey and teases our scent memory. The contrast of tar/asphalt (metallic glints from somewhere) juxtaposed with beautiful floral essence and then leather and earth? It is a difficult perfume to understand, if one is looking to understand why they wish to smell this way. For me, it's a smells like a story that I don't have the skill to tell in a novel, let alone an online review.

Manhattan, in a bottle. (Grew up there in the 80's, to give you a cultural frame of reference.)

Opening of rose scented spray paint, or perhaps rose scented hairspray. Quite harsh in the beginning that reminds of a workman's garage without the car smell - aerosol, some degreaser perhaps. The metallic overtones stay a good while and there is a mix of hot black asphalt combined in. I get hints of a hot blacktop where someone is wearing black leather with hardcore hits of florals. Very urban, very modern with all those metallic building materials. The metal and the rose work well together. Has a white bar of soap vibe to it later on which lent itself to more of a 'clean' scent than the original metallic notes. Good to see a perfume out of the normal comfort zone and an interest take on metallic notes.

Well what can I say? i'm not sure. I do commend it's experimentation but that's all this appears to be, an experiment. The dry down does have a pleasant road side rose smell. More femme, worth experiencing but I am unable to give much more praise than that.

Listen to Burial the UK electronic music artist, this is pretty much the fragrance for most of his music

This is less "avant garde" and more "Miss Havisham." Less "asphalt" and more "cloud of chalk dust," nothing but powder and sickly potpourri with a spritz of lemon air freshener to boot. I loved the concept behind this fragrance, but I'm not sure I'm capable of loathing a perfume more than I loathe Asphalt Rainbow. Nauseating. Immediate scrubber scent.

WOW. A spiritual heir to Black in all the right ways. They're not kidding about that asphalt note, but it's so much more than that, and so lovely -- definitely the most remarkable rethink of rose I've encountered in a very long time, and beautiful in a very modern (but surprisingly organic) way. Excitement in a bottle, right here.
