2020 was a year like none before. A year where we all discovered, against our own wills, a new time unit, a new space. Infinitely stretched time and confined space. For perfumers, a constraint but also a sheer luxury: the time to create beautiful scent experiences that reflect the mission of the Atelier du Parfumeur IFF. Open since May 2019, a true stalwart of haute-perfumery, each fragrance is compounded by hand on location in Grasse.
This year, the perfumer's creations are hence a tribute to Slow-Smelling, a new take on their annual “Speed Smelling” with the theme of “Luxury, Calm, and Pleasure” (after Baudelaire’s “Invitation to the Voyage”). The luxury of creation without looking at price tags. The re-connection to oneself and to suspended time. The rekindled pleasure of re-learning what they already knew, seeing with fresh eyes, away from the frantic trance of day to day. Join them in the Slow Smelling, close your eyes and partake in their imagined worlds: Luxury, Calm, and Pleasure, indeed.
