Here's what other people are saying about Contre Bombarde 32...
Where Avignon evokes an austere church feel, the incense there is fresh and bright. Contre Bombarde 32 on the other hand, opens slightly musty with a brief whiff of cumin before settling down to old dusty wood, an old aged book, lingering incense from yesterday's mass... the cedar is rich and well-blended, with a very light touch in the base of vanilla to take some of the edge off without making things sticky sweet. On top of it all, this lasts quite long compared to other incense fragrances I've used, though sillage is moderate at best throughout - staying fairly close to the skin. To me, this is a masterpiece - one of the finest incense creations I've ever smelled.

The sweet, dry smokiness of this perfume haunts me. It's one of the finest renditions of cedarwood I've smelled. The astringency is gone, tamped down by a whisper of rich, true vanilla. The addictive waxy quality of the woods support the incense trail perfectly. This fragrance brings an extra dose of fascination into my day, and what could be better than that?

I got a sample of this on a whim because I thought the bottle was cool. This is a fantastic fragrance that fits the description given by LuckyScent. The opening reminds me of sweet, freshly cut wood, like in a craftsman's shop. The vanilla and caramel show up quickly, but they are not too sweet and they keep the woody opening in check. Longevity seems good and the scent is versatile enough to be used every day. I'm getting a bottle of this soon! Cheers!

I am a genuine incense nut, so this purchase was a no-brainer. It is phenomenal! The finest frankincense, antique wooden pews, sweet smoke, a little something feral going on somewhere. Lasts a very long time with good sillage, but not at all cloying or overpowering. Gorgeous work! This is the most intense and rich of the three in this series, though all are excellent.

Absolutely love this. Description above is pretty right on, it opens resiny-incensy with the slightest sharpness, then moves into a kind of stinky wood, then finally ends sort of smoky. It is gorgeous. I only wish it were stronger!!
