The second collaboration with renowned perfumer Stéphanie Bakouche, Héliodose is the culmination of a long held vision of a uniquely Marlou floral, one that explores the naturally animalic side of flowers. After copious research and experimentation, Marlou and Stéphanie found inspiration in the sun-kissed tiare flower, also known as the Tahitian gardenia--a richly fragrant flower that combines delightfully tropical sweetness with a lushness made all the more compelling for its subtle undercurrent of indole, the natural component of white florals responsible for heady, dirty, animalic sensuality.
Tiare is featured front and center and its skankier, muskier elements are accentuated with a burst of green galbanum and pure indole. It is abundantly clear that Héliodose is a Marlou soliflore through and through, albeit one where the aforementioned skankiness is balanced with a lovely honeyed natural sweetness that evokes the classic Monoï oil (tiare soaked in coconut oil) beloved throughout Polynesia. The results are, for lovers of animalic florals, quite simply perfection--a unique floral that showcases both the sunny and sultry sides of tropical paradise.
