Here's what other people are saying about Ambre Royal...
A bright happy amber scent, this is another nice offering from Ormonde Jayne. The perfume opens with a beautiful osmanthus note before moving to a brief floral heart of iris and orchid. The perfume settles on a dense base of amber and ambroxan surrounded by slight hints of synthetic musk and cedar. The overall effect is of happy times in lush gardens. If I have a quibble with this scent it is the unnecessary use of ambroxan for additional effect which gives it a slight screechy vibe. Unisex feminine leaning with pronounced projection and sillage and good longevity. Enjoy!

Surprisingly strident with a room-rocking sillage, Ambre Royale would be right at home in a Duty-Free shop, much more commercial than niche. It's well-constructed, but ill-construed.

A tinny salty note keeps this pretty floral-amber on its toes, and it’s much the better for the stretch. Still, this is a thicker, cool-weather fragrance that pairs nicely with a cable-knit sweater and a mug of tea.

Very pretty and surprisingly light oriental. These types of perfumes usually don't work for me but this one is turning out to be a happy surprise! It's not overly spicy nor is it too syrupy or heavily resinous. The florals in this are a floating suggestion on my skin, quiet and ever present, anchored by cedar and tonka, all in a whisper that doesn't go away. I could see this being a little Grandmother-y on someone if the chemistry wasn't just right. And it does feel like a winter scent to me, a little too heavy for summer. Even so, none of it is overpowering, it's all just there, floating, soothing and present. With moments of fresh cut wood from far away sneaking in between the flowers. Beautiful.
