Here's what other people are saying about Targhee Forest...
Let me preface by saying that I love Rogue's Bon Monsieur and I also enjoy Fougere L'Aube. Both extremely well made fougeres that wear wonderfully on skin. Unfortunately, Targhee Forest is nothing like walking through a real forest at all. It is very much a perfume experience as opposed to some of the comments I've read. I was hoping for fir balsam, pine, and juniper berries in my face, but they are masked by musk, an amber accord, geranium, and oakmoss. I will say that I enjoy the drydown of Targhee Forest more than I do the sharp opening. I'm more of a raw conifer junkie than I am a lover of approximates, which perfumes tend to be when the artist/perfumer is working towards a "concept" rather than a realistic representation.

This is not just a fragrance it's an olfactory odyssey. From the first spritz, I felt like I was meandering through a pristine forest, just moments before the sun's first light pierced the horizon. The juniper note is immediately invigorating, like a breath of crisp, morning air. As the scent unfolds, the pine and cedarwood dance together, evoking towering trees with their majestic, woody presence. Remarkably, this ethereal journey lasts, with the scent enduring over 16 hours on my skin. It's an experience of nature's serenity bottled, capturing the essence of a dawn-lit woodland realm. A genuine masterpiece for those seeking to wear the tranquility and majesty of nature.

I wanted to like this sample more than I did. It’s rich in its multilayered smells and I will definitely use it

Smells like a very upscale, expensive, and more elegant version of the original Polo, in the green bottle, which is also still amazing, but this is more elegant and sophisticated.
