Here's what other people are saying about Promises, Promises...
My initial reaction was, ”This smells like purple.” After a few more sniffs, a light barbershop scent with a purple top note. Later it occurred to me the purple is actually grape! It is an unusual note in my sniffing experience, and a very nice one too. In my opinion, this is a masculine scent, but not overly so. I want to get a bottle of this magical purple!

This isn't a sticky sweet cakelike vanilla. I love that kind don't get me wrong, but this is somehow different in a good way. It is subtle, yet still comes out to play. It's so warm and interesting. It has equal parts (to my nose) amber and vanilla and then a shot of background incense to keep it original. I say it is perfectly unisex. Wearing this makes me feel warm, cozy, happy. It is very cocooning. Definitely sample first but give it a chance. I love it! lasts for 6-7 hrs with moderate projection.

This is a unique scent. I agree it's unisex and best in cooler-cold weather. I enjoy smelling this because it's not like anything else. The animalic factor is honey like, almost baked goods like. I would not recommend this for folks who adore mainstream designer fragrances. This is different and stands out. I like it for exactly that reason.

I blind bought this bottle, and received it today. I love Kerosene fragrances, to me they are always unique and this one is no different, but if you are looking for a very sweet vanilla, this is not it. It’s a great fragrance, but not your typical sweet vanilla, then again that’s what makes it special.

Not at all what I hoped for or expected. To my nose, it's a very oriental amber, musk with a touch of vanilla. I get some spice and no sweetness. PLEASE SAMPLE FIRST. My husband bought it for me, but it still stings like a blind buy fail.

In essence, this is Winter of 99, without the heavy clove note. Definitely not your innocuous and simple vanilla. This one is resinous, incensey, with a heavy hit of dark vanilla in the dry down.
