The Scoop

New York City’s Studio 54 has become the symbol of the ‘70s club scene, the pinnacle of hedonism where the jet-set and celebrities mingled with uproarious results. The Fifty Four eau de parfum from Jusbox pays homage to this era of bacchanal abandon, the scent crafted as a collaboration between master perfumer Julien Rasquinet and The Perfume Guy as an example of what olfactory indulgence might be worn to the club today. Creamy piña colada accord blends with cardamom and davana for a sweet blast of excitement, while the strong, weighty notes of rhum, vanilla, sandalwood, tobacco and patchouli transform the bass vibrations of the underground scene into an energetic aroma.

What We Think

A passionate collaboration between the Jusbox founders, Chiara & Andrea Valdo and Sebastian Jara, AKA The Perfume Guy. Their synergy, love and passion in both the music and fragrance world led to Sebastian's desire to work with the talented perfumer, Julien Rasquinet. Together, the four of them worked closely for 11 months to create the magic of Fifty Four. Be ready for an olfactive treat!

This was a blind buy based on my appreciation for the company, the perfumer, and most of all, the inspiration and expertise of Sebastian Jara, The Perfume Guy. Based on his recommendations and my previous purchases, I was confident that I would love this fragrance, and I do. It is simply beautiful. The opening is aromatic, spicy and warm. It lasts hours on me with minimal application and dries down slowly, evolving into a delicious gourmand, sweet without being cloying. For me, this is an all year long, every day scent to be worn for any occasion. It is like a high quality blazer, an investment that proves to be sound and worthwhile.
