A vetiver leather dosed with patchouli and papyrus sedge, followed by a creamy, woodsy base, Private Label is bone dry and only lightly sweetened yet soft and seductive. Papyrus sedge adds a kind of vegetal bitterness to the already challenging and austere vetiver/leather combination. This formidable accord is balanced by the rich, buttery base of sandalwood and vanillic labdanum (cistus).

This comes out the gate “Old World”, but when it dries down.... It smells like buttery patchouli powder that’s been sprinkled on supple suede gloves. The wafts are the clapping of the hands. This is money: Not from modern technology times, but wealth built from the height of the Industrial Age. Wear this when you want to be the apex of the mountain.

Excellent fragrance by a line that is quickly becoming a favorite. Private Label, Les Jeux Sont Faits, and Psychedelique are the best I've tried so far. They have a "vintage" quality that is really unique without the ickiness and heaviness that many actual vintage fragrances have. Private Label opens with a sharp, almost medicinal smell that becomes leathery and slightly patchouli, very dry, and totally fascinating. It does not smell like vetiver or patchouli; somehow, both of those usually very distinct notes get absorbed into the whole. To me it smells like an old wood-paneled chapel where incense has burned for many years. Just fantastic.

This is my second buy from this amazing fragrance house. Psychadelique is a fantastic patchouli fragrance, and Private Label has to be the ultimate man fragrance! What a beauty!!! Rich mix of patchouli, vetiver and everything else that smells good on a man. This is a very high quality fragrance fit for a king, a top notch movie star, a man of elegance, refinement and strength. What a beautifully blended fragrance. A true gem. I am truly tempted to try one or two more of Jovoy’s offerings. Not cheap, but totally worth the price, as a little goes a long way.

A thing of immense beauty for which I was unprepared -- it's as if I glanced at the sky to find a giant zeppelin hovering in graceful silence over the house. The opening is gorgeous, a rich, spicy, almost spangly combination of rooty vetiver and resinous patchouli overarched by something fresh and very green, the papyrus? The latter quickly fades as a deep, dry, smoky-sweet accord of spice, wood and leather gradually fills the space and subsides like a dream into the rich, dark, peaty vetiver-patchouli smell, which for me was the ultimate star of this show.

Guys!! This juice is sick!! And, for the price (I pay so much more for two or three other leather frags and am happy to do so.), It has no peers. Buy some today. It is blind buy worthy.

Jovoy is a beast of a fragrance. It opens with a boozy blast of bitter vegetal green, and then settles down to a smoky vetiver over leather. Silage is medium and longevity is great. It's not the most polished and delicate fragrance around, but I actually like that. Definitely suitable for men, if you want to give it a try, and women if you don't mind wearing a non-sweet perfume.
